Hi,
I need advice and any imput would be appreciated. I didn`t take any AD for over 2 years (after 8 years on Elavil) and strongly feel I need something. I got a prescription for Lexapro some 6 months ago. Bought it but hesitated to take it because I read so many people complain about feeling sleepy and dizzy on it.
I`m only depressed, not anxious at all. My mind is extremely slow and my memory shot. I feel sleepy and unable to concentrate most of the time.
Anybody who had same symptoms and Lexapro helped? Anything else that helped with similar symptoms?

what`s the best AD for depression without anxiety? Me, me, I've had the same symptoms and took Lexapro. It helped quite a bit, with no adverse effects. It's not activating, though, so I've switched to Wellbutrin (again) with excellent success this time.

Another member here, LMo, took it and she had the drowsiness problem.

If you do a search in here for Lexapro and/or ecitalopram, you should come up with quite a few responses from other people.

As far as what's the best, that's up to you and your doctor to decide. We can't diagnose or recommend any medications here.

The main thing to realize is that each person has their own reaction to every med......I can't take any meds because of the reactions I have to them....some are down right scary. It is important for your pdoc & you to find the one or ones that work together to really help you.

Sometimes it takes years to find just the right one or combination that really works for you & the frustration of being a guinea pig is always possible.
