I just had to get off lamictal due to rash (boo!) and my pdoc started me on equetro (carbamazepine). Same as tegretol except I believe equetro is the extended. Anyway, he started me on 100mg a day. I was doing research on this drug and read that it is for bp1. I am bp2. I will ask him about this for sure but was wondering if anyone else here took it? I am really afraid that it will treat the hypomania but not the depression.

I take Tegretol and I am Bipolar II. So far so good after taking it for over two years.
