I've been diagnosed in 2001. My issue at the present time, concerns insomnia without being in a manic episode. My mood has been pretty stable, although sometimes a bit depressed but nothing major. I will see my psychiatrist in a few weeks and I will address this issue : It appears as though the 600mg of SeroquelXR and the 100 mg Seroquel don't have any effect on me anymore. I fall asleep almost 12 hours after taking my medication, then follows a shallow sleep for 2 hours at a time, which means that I sleep from dawn to dusk... My sleep pattern is all wrong and I can't seem to set it back to a normal schedule. I was also diagnosed with fibromyalgia 4 years ago..
If anyone can relate to this, I'd love to hear from you. 600 mg Seroquel XR Supper 100 mg Seroquel Bedtime 100 mg Lamictal 100 mg topamax 150 mg Lyrica |

I can't say that I had your experience, but maybe I wasn't on Seroquel as long. I know many drugs for sleep conk out after awhile. Maybe your doc can have an idea.

I've searched many sites to find out if my medication can fade after some time. I did not find any satisfactory evidence, except for a few posts where people were taking only 25 mg of Seroquel, which is a starting dose. I can't wait to see my psychiatrist and see what he can suggest. I am keeping my fingers crossed to see him sooner if someone cancels an appointment.
Until then, I am exploring the various forums in search for answers. Thank you and have a nice day. |

But I take 400 Seroquel at bedtime, and for the most part I am able to sleep. Did they switch you to the generic seroquel? I cannot take the generic form, had an allergic reaction. I have heard other people have problems with the generic seroquel.

I always had the original Seroquel. Next time they may have to give me the generic since the original will not be covered by our provincial hearlthcare program. As for the XR, I take it 5-6 hours prior to bedtime. Normally, it would induce sleep at just the expected time and I was okay in the day. This one was switched to the generic a few days ago and somehow, it seems more efficient. Was your allergic reaction to the generic of the regular Seroquel very severe?
Thank you. |
