I hope I am in the right place; I am still learning my way around here.
I'm wondering if anyone has successfully taken an MAOI with a stim? I am taking Parnate, which, because of the weight gain, unfortunately is the only drug that works for me; I am EXTREMELY treatment resistant. But, hey, at least I have SOMETHING that does work, right. I have come to the conclusion that I have to give up vanity for sanity and am working very hard to exercise daily and eat well. My problem is, I'm on 80 mg. daily (a pretty high dose) and in the afternoon, around 3, I just crash. In the mornings I am ambitious and full of energy but around 3, I lose all motivation and sit in a chair either doing nothing, sleeping, or wasting time scrolling through FB. I do NOT want to up my dosage because when I was at 120 mg., it caused a whole other slew of problems besides more weight such as Diabetes and High Cholesterol. I have heard that there ARE people taking a stim (Dexadrine, Adderall, Ritalin, and the one that starts with a P, which has fallen into the swiss cheese that is my memory ATM. I would just really like to hear from someone who has taken this combo despite the concern about high blood pressure and/or hypertensive crises. I don't know if my doctor will even consider it, but I'm seeing him Friday and would like to have some positive experience to back up my request. I don't think there is a answer you want to hear, it said use a stim with a MAOI and I will see you in the next life
 but I like your little quote sanity v vanity you got that spot on with the weight issue.

I thought that you weren't supposed to take stimulants with MAOIs...

My doctor said when he gets back from his 2-week vacation in Hawaii (why do they rub that stuff in our faces when they know we are struggling just to get through the day?), he would consult with a pharmacist. Good-bye stimulant.

I was on Parnate and Dexidrine....I quit parnate though due to side effects. I still take an MAOI and stimulant. Im very tx resistant as well.

I'm starting on the stimulant Provigil soon, but I am not on an MAOI. Only SSRI, Wellbutrin and mood stabilizer
