I switched pdocs mainly because of location, but also because my old pdoc was getting on my last nerve...

So anyway...my new [ish] pdoc (I saw her for a semester when I took off from school and went back to her now that I'm home again) is great and I love her! She takes the time to check in with you and see where you're at. She also listens to you and makes sure that you're comfortable with what you're on and what doses you take.

Like today for example I was saying how great Klonopin is for my sleep and she asked how much I've been taking and said okay, we'll keep it like that until things settle down and then maybe we'll try something non-benzo (Lunesta, so if you guys have any experiences with that, please share!) since my life is kinda insane right now since I just started my first full time job and I'm moving into my first apartment this weekend and in 2 weeks my whole family is moving to California so she didn't want to upset the balance of things and mess with my meds until I get all settled, even though she has ideas of what I should do.

It's so strange, how different she is from my old pdoc. When I saw my old pdoc, I would wait 15 minutes or more for a 5 minute (10 if it was something major) appointment. With this one, my appointments are always somewhere around 30 minutes, longer sometimes (today was almost 45).

But yeah. I'm in a good mood today anyway, and having a good pdoc visit helped that.

that is really great that you found somebody who is willing to take time to show they are really interested in you. those type of pdocs seem hard to find these days. you sure are lucky.

Yeah. I'm super happy. Even though I saw her for an entire semester before, I don't remember much of any of it (though I was so completely all over that semester, I don't remember too much of any of it)...so it was sort of a nice surprise. It helps me feel that staying here and not moving with my parents was the right decision for me right now.
