The first time I tried saphris, i was on 5mg, and handled it fairly well. after stopping it for a few days and then going back on it a second time (this time at 10 mg) things were really rough. so i stopped it altogether and havent been on it for four months.
the citalopram my gp gave me is making me way worse. so i had to stop taking it, it caused me to sleep for 24 hours in an unconcious like state. i went to visit my mom the other day, and found my saphris. there were 3 unopened boxes, of 5 mg. I have been suffering so badly that I am so tempted to try it again. I know that alot of people have had great success with this drug, and maybe reading the positive reviews is whats led me to the consideration of taking this again. I dont have a therapist or a pdoc to go to, so, Im basically at my wits end with what Im going through. Im so desperate for mental relief and the ability to get myself back its unreal. I want to try it again, but dont know if its the right thing to do? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

First off if you dont think its the right thing to do then it may not be. If you stopped takeing it before its probably not the best idea

I took 5 mg saphris with no problems and it helped my racing thoughts immensely. I can't imagine taking more than 5mg though. At 5mg, I can take it about 20 minutes before I plan to go to sleep, go to sleep easily, sleep all night, and wake up with no hangover. Any more than 5mg would be too sedating the next day I would expect.

You say you don't have a pdoc so is your gp doing the prescribing for the medication? If so, you need to call and get him to try something else since neither of those two medications worked for you. I wouldn't start taking something the didn't work for me before. It would be best if you could get a pdoc.

Oh, there are so many options out there, and a pdoc would def. offer the best advice to you re: meds. If for some reason you are unable to see one, then get your GP to prescribe something different for you. No reason to suffer again with the saphris! Good luck to you and hope you find something that works!

Because I am unable to work and have no insurance, it is very difficult for me to see a psychiatrist. The cheapest one in town is $375 for a visit. And unfortunately, they do not offer payment arrangements, it has to be paid in full per time of visit. My gp has been prescribing for me, but he doesnt feel comfortable in doing so as he feels he doesnt have the knowledge necessary to help me. He wants me to be able to get in to see a good psychiatrist but doesnt know where to lead me with no insurance
