Just a brief reintroduction to my situation:

My old pdoc left (miss her dearly..) and i got a new one. My old one did not support me changing my meds coz im susceptible to side effects and she thinks 'meds wont work' on me despite the fact that lexapro was only the 3rd AD that i've tried. My new pdoc seemed flexible and last week i managed to gather up courage to change my meds. Lexapro 20mg did not work AT ALL. This would be my first AD discontinuation.

The new pdoc suggested mirtazapine, and i okay-ed it. I am now taking lexapro 10mg and mirtazapine 7.5mg. Tonight is my last dose of lexapro and mirtazapine will be increased to 15mg tomorrow night.

Question is: i realised i am now very sensitive to my surroundings. Previously if someone were to call my name i would be 'oh okay'.. now when someone does that i get surprised so bad.. and at the same time i get this really bad headache that lasts for 5 secs or so. Sometimes it also comes with a vertigo this happens also when i drop something. i hate it. Is this normal? Is this what they call brain zaps? Should i be concerned? I don't like this feeling im not feeling anxious at all so anxiety is out of the picture. Though anxiety is one of the side effects i have..

Hi! I can't answer all your questions, but what you describe doesn't sound like brain zaps. You might see what a pharmacist has to say about what might be happening with your particular med combination, taper....

the good news about MIRTAZAPINE, you don't get sexual problems on this med, the bad news is you will put weight on, and I don't mean in time i mean weekly its a great med if you don't mine being fat
