I've been suffering from Brief Psychotic Disorder F23.0 for more than 2 years now. I've tried a lot of drugs and none of them seemed to help me improve my condition. This year in February I've decided to go on a electroconvulsive therapy treatment which helped me a lot. I got rid of the most anxiety that prevented me from a lot of common activities, but I still experience some anxiety and cannot watch the TV or enjoy the nature when outdoors. Is this state temporarily? Will I feel better after time or should I go on a electroconvulsive therapy again? Are there any other methods?
Thank you for your time and response. |

What does your doctor think about more ECT? Not being able to watch TV, have you also tried the neurology route for your disorder? To ensure you don't have anything physically going on, too? 2 years, and not much helping, leaves me wondering that.

I've been on 12 ECTs. The doctor is now on vacation. I will visit him when he comes back to consult him about more ECTs. I don't know what a neurology route is, but I've done a EEG & brain scan (I think it's called EMG) and they are fine. In the summer of 2011 I had "the matrix" life theory and my brain couldn't handle it and something just snapped in my brain and I haven't been back to normal ever since.
