I have been taking 200 mg lamictal at night for about 6 weeks. A couple of days ago, since my depression seemed to be getting worse, my pdoc said to start taking an extra 150 mg in the morning. For the past 2 days, I've been taking the extra 150 at around 7 a.m. but then feel exhausted by 9:00 or 10:00 a.m.
Does anyone with experience with lamictal think adding the 150 in the morning without titrating is too quick of a jump? I could really use some input here. |

Well, I can't offer the best insight about the speed of it, because I got up to 300 really fast, never went over that. But, I can tell you this, it's a powerful drug. I did notice a period of adjustment over about a week every time I changed dosage, which IIRC went up by 25's and then I think 50's, from the initial 25 to the full 300. One thing I noticed several times after I went up is I had a day or two where all kinds of things struck me as funny. Another thing I noticed on lamictal is that I would say some pretty wild things, out of character for me, and use the f word a lot, it's now become part of my vocabulary.
