My son recently started taking 1mg Risperidone for symptoms of psychosis. He has only taken it for 3 days. He said his symptoms have worsened. Is it possible that the symptoms could get worse before they get better? Or is that an indication that the medication is wrong for him?

Thank you!

If his symptoms are getting worse I believe it's definitely a sign that the medication isn't working for him.
It would be best to contact his doctor and let him know that the symptoms are getting worse and that you think he should try a new medication.
Thanks for this!

When I tried seroquel I was hearing more voices than usual. It would probably require a higher dose of risperidone as 1mg didn't work for me but 2mg did.
Thanks for this!
