I told my T (Who isn't the perscribing doc, but for travel reasons I can't get to them and I called and told) I have told both the doc and my T that my antidepressant isn't working anymore, and that my antipsychotic is at the end of it'sworking on me I can tell. But he (The doc) keeps telling me to take it anyway, because he gave me two mre refills of it and he wants me to have it all. Even though I've been taking it for a while and he knows it isn't working for me. My depression has gotten worse and I'm beginning self-injury again, like I'm back to square one, what do I do?

Can you switch psychiatrists?
Another idea, although its a bit of a stretch is to switch pharmacies in hopes of getting a different supplier. All generics are not created equal. |

Yikes! What did your T say when you told her that your antidepressant wasn't working? Did she have any recommendations? I don't understand why your doc is being so stubborn about making you take all the refills-- I've never heard of anything like that before! Like doyoutrustme said, maybe you can switch psychiatrists? Because antidepressants do stop working and you don't deserve to suffer while you wait to use up your refills. That makes no sense to me. And there's other meds on the market that you may response better to.

UGHH that sucks. And there's no other accessible psychiatrists in your area? Sometimes medical doctors/physicians can prescribe psych meds (I think?) Maybe that's another option. It's definitely not right of your pdoc to make you continue Prozac when you clearly see it's not working.

If in England and under a NHS shrink, your GP will not change your med without consulting the shrink . Most times you better off not going to a shrink in the first place, but just keep using your GP there more human
