does anyone take clozaril as an anti-suicide med? It has been recommended as such if ECT doesn't work.

The only med I've heard of that studies have actually shown to help with suicidal ideation is lithium, but perhaps clozaril has shown some help also. Not familiar with it though.

I was on Clozaril, based on my experience clozaril put you into zombie mode and made you sleep a lot and you need to increased your dosage all the times or it wont work anymore and plus with me it has made me gained tons of weight

Clozaril is a high-risk med. It requires strict initial weekly bloodwork, which then can drop to bi-weekly or monthly after I believe several weeks to months. It is a last-ditch anti-psychotic that I have not yet heard of being an anti-suicide med. I'm assuming that the ECT was a last-ditch effort after trying several meds and therapies, and this is a last-last-ditch effort?
The thing with Clozaril (at least a few years ago) was that if you ever stopped it for any significant length of time, you could never take it again because the risk associated with it multiplied exponentially (a caution from the drug rep when trying to instill the importance of compliance).
I would do a TON of research on this before taking it for suicidal ideation. Get second, third, and 4th opinions... I guess if your options are dead or Clozaril, try clozaril... but do research to know what you are agreeing to.
