I am looking for information.

Whast sort of effects would these drugs give a 14 yr old child with no mental h ealth issues.

One dose

100mg sparine, 30mg valium, 20mg haloperodol

Haloperodol sometimes substituted by zelmid 20mg, kemerdrin 20mg, now and then 50mg of disipal or dipixal added to the above dose.

Other drugs given per day

20mg valium 4 times daily

Other drugs also given

disipal
dipixol
sernace
largactyl
phenargan syrup
normoson
valium
flupenthixcol

and the list goes on. 11 drugs used but dose at the top was regular.

Can someone tell me what the affects of those drugs would cause if administered for 3 yrs daily and alternated and some days given placebo or vitamin c?

The side affects were severe. The placid child with no mental history nor violence or criminal history turned violent within weeks, severe personality change, dizziness, aches and pains every day, kidney pain, no urine for days, hillucinations and the list goes on.

If a 14 yr old is on 20mg valium 4 times a day is that excesive?

I don't know much about medication dosages and for me to tell you what is excessive for another person would be wrong and potentially harmful. So the only thing I can suggest is conculting with that persons prescribing physician or have that person get a second opinion. Everyone is entitled to a second professional oppinion if they question the first professionals treatment plans. In fact alot if not all USA doctors that prescribe ANY form of treatment must give out complaint and second opinion procedures to their clients and in minors cases to the parents or guardians.

Fragilming, we have a drug forum which you will find if you scroll down some. There is someone there that knows about meds and could answer your questions better than anyone else could.

I would suggest you repost this in the Drug Forum!

Good luck!

Anyone can have allergic reactions that are above and beyond the normal experience of a drug. I agree with Septie that posting this in the Drug Forum will elicit a response of our "resident" pharmacist Info needed on drugs on a child, large does? trials?... my main question now is, did only one doctor prescribe all these, or if more than one, are they all aware of all the medications the child is taking???

Good wishes on this. Info needed on drugs on a child, large does? trials?

I'm confused, you state "no mental health issues", who told you there was? And who prescribed these meds, and why?
Please give us a little more info, though we are not drug experts, or pharmacists, we may be able to share our experiences on the meds we have taken or take.
Excuse my questions, for I am in a haze to your post.

These meds and doses are WAY out of the norm, and can have tremendous side-effects. Who is prescribing 20 mg of haldol to a child????

> What sort of effects would these drugs give a 14 yr old child with no mental health issues...

Different adults respond differently to different medications, I expect the same rule would apply to adolescents and children.

I don't imagine studies have been done on giving a 14 year old adolescent with no mental health issues a cocktail of medications 'just to see what would happen' so it would be very hard to say...

Are you saying that this adolescent has been prescribed those medications even though the prescribing clinician thought that the person had no mental health issues?

Or are you saying that you don't think the person has mental health issues?

> The side affects were severe. The placid child with no mental history nor violence or criminal history turned violent within weeks, severe personality change, dizziness, aches and pains every day, kidney pain, no urine for days, hillucinations and the list goes on.

Why were they prescribed those medications if they were a 'placid child with no mental history nor violence or criminal history'?

Depends what the 14 yr old is being prescribed the valium for.

Under no circumstances should anyone, let alone a 14 y/o child be given 20 mg of valium 4 times a day. Please visit my chat on friday from 2.30-3.30 EST.
