I have been experiencing extreme fatigue, I'm exhausted all day and have a hard time staying up. If I let myself I could literally sleep 15 hours or more a day. I experienced some drowsiness with Abilify when I started I had to take a nap but nothing like this. Does Lithium cause tiredness like this? or its it the combination of both that make me this tired? Just wondering if anyone else has a similar experience.

I haven't taken lithium, but I have read that it can cause "lethargy."
Thanks for this!

Thanks PAYNE. I'm hoping it's something that goes away with time while adjusting to the medication

Maybe you can ask a pharmacist or your prescriber about that. I hope it will!
Thanks for this!

Might be the interaction with Abilify. I was on Lithium for years and it never made me tired.
Thanks for this!

Thanks for the reply

That very well could be it. Or it might just still be the Abilify by itself but I don't know how a 5mg dose of it would do that. I'll talk to my doctor if it doesn't go away.

I stopped taking Abilify because it made me so tired I couldn't function. I was on 5mg. I was just prescribed lithium a few days ago. I haven't noticed any tiredness, but I'm on a very small dosage.

Thank you for the reply, I guess it was the Abilify then, It's surprising what a small 5mg of it can do!
