Well phooey! I may as well have eaten an M&M. Absolutely no effect whatsoever. Not even a yawn. I took 2 mg. (Prescribed).

I have a funeral service of my dearest grandmother on Monday and I am singing (which is why I asked for the sedative, because I don't know if I can cope with my emotions). But I may as well have a tall glass of sugar water!

Hey,

sorry to hear about your grandmother

any chance you can get an apt to see your prescribing dr before the service to talk about if you can take a higher dose or maybe try a different med? Or if you can't get an apt then talk to them on the phone?

2mg is a really low dose, most people are prescribed 5mg. But before taking a higher dose it's always best to discuss things with your dr.

Seeing a doctor before Monday is out of the question. But it isn't really a problem. I was given 3 days worth. Which I don't really need to take right now. So I think on Monday morning, I'll just take 5mg and pack the rest away for emergency. (I've been anxiety free for a long time, this was purely situational).

I know it's not necessarily a good idea to take more than prescribed but I don't think there's any harm taking 5mg, that seems to be the norm when prescribing Diazepam.

Sounds like a plan. I hope the service goes OK.

Sometimes when you are upset (like your grandmother passing- I am very sorry about that, by the way). Your adrenaline will kick in and the meds will not work. Maybe taking a higher dose will help.

Good luck and I am very sorry about your grandmother

Thank you all. I just want to be calm when I sing. It will be my fourth funeral I'm singing at so I should know what to expect. But emotions don't always play along.
