Just curious if anyone out there has experienced chronic acid reflux/cough/sore throat during the early phases of taking Emsam? I have been at the increased 12mg dose for about a month, and have had these acid reflux symptoms around the same time that the positive effects of the med started to kick in!
My psych said she didn't think there was a relation, but I've read some accounts online of people experiencing this for about the first month. Hope everyone is having a good day--thanks!

Hi! Welcome to Psych Central! I haven't taken it, but I know that sore throat can be a side effect. I gather from one study I read that acid reflux is common during the first month, but goes away later. It showed 100% of patients had it during the first month, and none after that! (You and I might have read the same info.) I wouldn't worry if it goes away soon!

Maybe someone will respond who has had these symptoms.....

Thank you for your reply! Sorry, my internet was down for a while. It did go away. Ha, some other side effects persist, but I'll keep fighting the good fight like the rest of us! Thanks for the support.
