I found when I was on geodon my suicidal ideation was like stopped.

Now I'm on seroquel and it seems to helping most days.

Is it a placebo effect?

That depends on how long you are on seroquel.I hope it is working for you.

I take an antipsychotic for suicidal ideation with good effect. I take zyprexa.
