I'm really not sure if i should put this in this forum or the one for anger.

My pdoc put me on Welburtrin and I have been on samples now for a month. This morning he gave a prescription for it and it costs over $280.

He has know since April that I have no insurance. I thought he was being conscience about that and was looking for lower priced drugs. But I guess not since today he is starting me on Latuda which even more expensive. I feel I have not been heard. I am really tempted to just go off all of them. I'm so angry, I know there are lower priced drugs on the market.

Yes, i am meds resistant, but even if they work I can't afford them then why put me on them. He's been keeping me on samples until he sees if one works. Then I find out I can't afford them. I went to each of the websites and you can usually get $50 off, but that still makes them too espensive.

Thanks for listening to my rant. I don't know what I'm going to do. I'm going to have to go off of Wellbutrin. I think I have 17 pills left.

I see tramadol in your med list, I had serotonin syndrome with mixing this pain killer with meds, did you say when taking the samples that you could not afford meds, if so why did you let him give you a med you carnt afford, look for one that has a cheap generic. The shrink is there to find you a med not sort out your money worries ,that wont bother him I am afraid

Yes, I questioned him about the cost before he put me on them and he just don't worry about it I have plenty of samples for you. I finally got his attention this time; he put me on fluoxetine which is under $10. That is more like it. I just hope it works. I'm not sure what he is going to do with the Seroquel. But I'll fight one battle at a time. I'm sure there is a solution less expensive. He hasn't mentioned there being any problem with the tramadol and I don't take it every day, in fact, I rarely take anymore. The only thing the pharmacist was concerned about is I'm on a blood thinner and they don't recommend that with fluoxetine so he said I would have to keep my eye out for more than normal bruising.

Hi

I also want to quit my meds that cost a boatload. Prozac worked great for me until I went manic and I wonder why your pdoc is not aware of that? I ask bc ny last pdoc that gave ne Prozac and samples of abilify was not very good at her job. I think she got kick backs from the pharmaceutical reps.

Tnt

I know this is a dumb question but did you price the generic for Wellbutrin (bupropion)? The generic is significantly less than $280 or $50 off.

Just picked up a generic for Welbutrin XL today. Pharmacy said without insurance cost would be $48. Not great but better than $280
