I had severe flu-like symptoms when I started 50mg quetiapine. It passed in a week.

Seroquel was the only medication i ever had trouble stopping. No idea why or how the symptoms arose.

Maybe it's because seroquel effects histamine brain receptors?

These medications affect all your hormones and body systems.

It's good to hear the side effects are wearing off.

I don't think it's the antihistamines because I had just tapered and quit mirtazapine/remeron prior to starting quetiapine. Mirtazapine is a strong antihistamine and I didn't get any flu-like symptoms from it.

By the way, here's a nice description of the effect from increased dose quetiapine.

Thanks for this!

Thanks for sharing that article, ASmike. It is a good read and I finally understand a lot more how these drugs work at different dosages.
