So I stopped my fluoxetine because apparently antidepressants just make you numb so you can't feel the depression but I'm already numb so its pointless. I told my psychiatrist that I want to stop but he wont listen. I also said that my OCD was not that bad but he says that its severe and I need it.

I also stopped the risperidone because I can't get up out of bed in the morning when I take it and it's useless. The psychosis is gone so I don't need it anymore!!.

Now, apparently from what I've heard, if i were to get drug tested by my psychiatrist, if i have too much or TOO LITTLE of the meds in my system, my rights to be prescribed any sort of controlled substance (ADHD meds) are taken away??

Is this true?

Btw Im getting a new pdoc.

I have been tested to see what my levels are of Tegretol, to make sure it was in therapeutic range. I would think my levels of drugs would have been tested when I was hospitalized, too.

I'm not sure what a doc would do if the levels showed a drug was not being taken properly or at all. But I would think he/she would not be happy. I have heard of psychiatrists who have dismissed patients for not following their orders. I'm not sure what else they would do, but I would think they could refuse to give certain drugs if they did not trust a patient to take drugs properly.

When I was a trucker, I got tested for EVERYTHING. Well my Wellbutrin showed up, as well as seroquel and neurontin. That put the brakes on that career. I have had other drug tests for work purposes, and I always declare what I am on, so I haven't had a problem other that with the DOT.

Any dug test is looking for drug abuse, and your better off declaring what your on specially if it's just Wellbutrin as that will test positive for amphetamine. When your tested by your pdoc it's usually to make sure your not abusing any narcotics or illegal drugs. Employment is kind of "ify" regarding to many prescribed drugs such as AD, anti-psychotics etc as that might effect your job and they might deem you not a good fit. But if you bring it out during the test at least you have a chance because your being honest. As for the pdoc, the only thing that will stop them from giving you any scheduled 4, 3 or 2 is any indications of substance abuse. Those controlled substances are hard enough to get with no abuse. You can usually forget about getting any with any history of it. If your scheduled for any drug test no matter if by pdoc or empolyer it's always a good idea to be honest before they find out.
