I have already made a thread a while ago about this but am making a new one since some things have changed...

I am a 24 yr old male with psychosis and take invega sustenna 75 mg every 4 weeks for it and since taking this drug I notice my erections aren't as hard and my orgasms not as pleasurable/satisfying anymore plus I have almost no more semen coming out and I would say my sex drive is some what lower...

I have talked to my psychiatrist about this and he is lowering the dose of invega and will go down to 50 mg and if it doesn't work he will try Abilify...

I also had my prolactin tested and it is at 48...

Now what I am wondering is how likely is it that my sexual feelings will return to normal while taking these meds?

If you have experienced this I would like to hear your stories on how you are dealing with the issues, what kind of meds you tried etc...

Hey revv-so sorry to hear! Thankfully, I've never had any sexual problems with the antipyschotics, but you might try an amino-Acetyl L-Carnitine for your sex life!

Hello...I was on Invega for some time and experienced sexual dysfunction> I lost my erections, experienced erectile dysfunction. This med was effective for me from the standpoint that my hallucinations went away but it was not cool to be impotent. I was switched to Geodon and it was yet another mess but did pretty well for the hallucinations but I gave up and switched to Seroquel and while on it my hallucinations came back and it became intolerable, my erections on the other hand was not too bad if I recollect properly. So because of the hallucinations I was put on olanzapine (zyprexa) which helped with the ED but the hallucinations remained. I am not sure how well my erections were coping on the zyprexa and Seroquel..........it was just okay. Now I'm on clozapine....this for me has been a phenomenal med, did a great job in shooing away my hallucinations but now I have some other kind of problem which is that I am getting my erections but I'm not able to ejaculate.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
