Hi, I have hearing loss in both ears due to nerve damage (born with it). I also have tinnitus. I find that the tinnitus increases with certain medications. Lamictal increased it some. When I went off lamictal, the tinnitus started to go down. However, I started Wellbutrin soon after and now the tinnitus is louder than ever and getting louder. Tinnitus is often a precursor to hearing damage, so obviously I will have to stop the Wellbutrin even though it's doing a pretty good job with my depression.
Does anyone here have a hearing loss and/or tinnitus and are taking psych meds? If so, what do you take and does it aggravate the tinnitus? I'm seeing my pdoc tomorrow. Thanks for any help you can give me! |
