I haven't taken my lexapro in about a week now. I feel no different. No withdrawals. Maybe a bit emotional, crabby. I haven't decided if this is good or bad. Probably not the best decision but I just don't feel like taking it anymore. Oh well.

Best of luck and hope you don't get any brain zaps!

Speaking from experience. You may not experience it for a short time. Not sure how long you've been on it. But not titrating off may set you up for a terrible crash. I titrated off too quickly and crashed big time. SSRI's are known to cause withdrawal symptoms.

Just a suggestion? Google websites or buy books that tell you how to effectively get off them with minimal discomfort. Whether you felt like they didn't work, they still screw with your brain chemistry. Good luck.

I few years ago, I was taking a couple antidepressants. I never really noticed an effect from either, and I stopped the second one abruptly without noticing any difference. I'm still not convinced that antidepressants do anything.

I started taking it last february so just shy of a yr. My T has always said that she wants me to see a psychiatrist...she didn't think lexapro was doing anything for me. IDK if it was or not. I have never seen a clear difference comparing times off and on meds. I did the same thing when taking wellbutrin 5 yrs ago as well as prozac 3 yrs ago.

Maybe meds don't work for me...
