I'm in the middle of a huge med change right now. Has anyone ever taken the older generation of antidepressants/antipsychotics before? I have gone through basically all of the newer medications without any relief so my podoc is switching me to the older generation of meds. Any advise on side effects and how well these meds work??

It's really about your chemistry. Some are improved versions but still what works for you might not work for me. This article addresses it.

I take an older anti-psychotic, Thorazine, at night to help me sleep. I also take low doses for agitation. I have no side effects except dry mouth in the morning. It does have side effects but I haven't had them.
