So I've been on Zyprexa for about a week. My aggitation/mixed episode vanished in a day and a half.

I have a couple of questions about other's experiences.

1) Is the common weight gain from metabolism changes or an increase in appetite?

2) Could it be making my boobies bigger?!?!?! I'm 47 and surgically post-menopausal, but my boobies feel like they did before my periods.

I hope everyone is doing well. Thanks for taking the time to read this!!

Yes and yes.

The weight gain can be from either or both reasons. And it can affect your breast size - many antipsychotics can. Hopefully that will settle down for you, some people it does, others it does not. Everyone is different.

Zyprexa is a good effective medication but for some people the side effects outweigh the benefits.

I gained a lot of weight on the Zyprexa.

That's the only real thing I remember about it.

I took zyprexa along with a whole heap of other drugs eg ADs, lithium, Valium and other things I don't remember. I was 15 at the time and super skinny (40kg). The combination of drugs made me crave sugar something chronic, I gained 20kg in 3 months. My breasts got bigger, went from an A to a C but that was due to overall weight gain. Once I stopped the meds, I lost almost all the weight very fast but kept the boobs. I was happy as it helped me reach a healthier weight plus I got boobs out of it.
