I'm on 200mg Zoloft and 150mg Lamictal (also 200mg Seroquel, 15mg Remeron, 2mg Klonopin). I feel like I am jumping out of my skin with agitated anxiety, depression to a degree, and super-charged feelings (hypomania?). I've spoken with my p-doc, he dropped my Seroquel dose from 400 to 200, but I still feel highly agitated and miserable. Absolutely miserable. Frightened of everything, worried about everything...off the wall wacky worry and fear.

I'm thinking of dropping my Zoloft (sertraline) dose down to 150mg. Has anyone been on Zoloft and experienced extreme agitation? Especially if you've been on Zoloft and Lamictal?

Thank you.

i took zoloft up to 150mg and it didnt help anxiety/depression any, my condition even worsened while taking it.. i know its a sucky feeling, it might be the zoloft.. higher dosage doesnt always mean more efficacy from what i have read

hope you and your doc can get it sorted out soon... it looks like 3 different APs? so maybe the combination is synergizing the effects of each other?

Opposite, I think. I've been lethargic, apathetic and cognitively impaired for a year which is about how long I've been taking the Zoloft. We thought it was either the lamictal or depression so we increased the Zoloft two times and it got worse. I started adderall. In a couple weeks I am going to taper off the Zoloft. Take my story with a grain of salt. A side effect if lamictal is activation and that has never really been an issue.

Thanks, both of you. My p-doc insists that Lamictal wouldn't cause the hyper-energized sensations I'm feeling. But I see otherwise online. I'm going crazy.

do you tell your doc that you read up on this stuff at home online? i tell mine everytime i go in!
i've been wanting to try ritalin/adderall too but i brought it up 2x and they mentioned that i probably wouldnt do good on it because of the anxiety but like you said my anxiety has been just getting worse since trying the other medicines.. my logic is that what i have tried hasnt worked, so how could it hurt to try a different class of meds? since they work in the brain similarly but through different mechanisms maybe i would respond positively to the ritalin/adderall but thats just my thought...?

i didnt like my time on zoloft, i drank alot during the treatment as well so i guess i cant be 100% sure it didnt help, but i know i had panic attacks with anxiety attacks while taking it so it didnt prevent any anxiety / depression for me

not trying to de-rail the thread but im just wondering how you got them to let you try the adderall? i have extreme lethargy and apathy too... wellbutrin isnt activating and hasnt helped my anxiety or depression or energy levels any..? i want to stop taking the bupropion and buspar... scared of SSRI's and have never tried SNRI but scared of them too because of the discontinuation syndrome i experienced with zoloft... i figure ritalin would be a good treatment for me, but they dont seem to want to let me try it.. is it because i smoke cannabis?

@ sister rags, i would take some printouts if you have a printer that way you can show them what you have read, it seems to give more "Weight" to my concerns when i do that and they treat me little better afterwards since they can see im actively trying to work out my problems?

Well the only real difference is I have no anxiety at all. I wish I did because I would be motivated to take care of business. Cannabis causes lethargy. The stuff stays in my system for days. Could you try not smoking it for 30 days or so and see if it makes a difference? At least you would know.

Ssri's scare me too.

I dropped the Zoloft to 150mg today. WOW. What a difference! The terrible, terrible fearful agonizing anxiety/agitation has been almost non-existent today. I AM somewhat depressed with a low level of anxiety. Clearly the Zoloft is causing issues for me. I'm actually going to try 175mg tomorrow, see if I can get a happy medium going.
