Hey guys,

I take 15 mg saphris at bed time, as per my doctors instructions. Sometimes, though, I worry that I use them to hide or run away.

Like "eh, eff it Instead of staying up tonight working I'll take my meds and pass out"

I'm in recovery, so I can't just run and hide...

Anyone else feel this way about their meds?

Thanks,

Brontoset

That's the question, I ask myself, on any Ambien night. Am I taking this, properly?

Were you given, a reason, for daily intake? Does, lack of sleep, affect you, during the day?

Do you feel you aren't getting everything done, during your waking hours, that you are missing, by having a nightly schedule?

We can process, stuff, while asleep, perhaps, that's part of your script and part of your recovery process?

Add: as though your body needs the extra rest you are being given? Not just emotional recovery, but physical, too?

Brontoset, taking saphris is not a threat to your sobriety/recovery. Even some people in recovery need medications like saphris and such. You are following your drs. advice by taking it as prescribed so you are not abusing it. Don't let your mind get too carried away with all the possible negative motivations about taking meds--being in recovery makes us question everything. I've been clean for over 8 years and have been on psych meds the entire time. I had the thoughts you are experiencing now--questioning whether I should/shouldn't take them, why was I taking them, did it mean I was not sober?...etc. Also, I don't know what type of mental issues you have so this might not apply to you, but my illness plays tricks on my thinking and it "talks me out" of taking my meds that I need to treat it. Ultimately, only you and your doctor can decide if you should take the saphris.........D.

I actually hate going to bed has nightmares are really that bad i am glad to get up. I instantly forget them when i get up, but shudder at going to bed, I don't go till i am forced by sleep about 2 am up 6 am . Why do you i put up with it, Well my meds work is the simple answer and i am prepared to cope with this side effect while they do.
