Hey, I've been on Zyprexa for about six weeks now and I'm finding it horrible. I'm on 15 mg and I feel like a zombie. I feel zonked out, I've lost interest in absolutely everything, I think slowly, I've lost my sense of humour, I'm constantly tired, and to top it off I'm horribly depressed.
The thing is, I don't know when I'll next see a psychiatrist to ask to have my medicine changed, it could be a month from now, it could be three before I next see one. And with it being the Christmas period I won't get to see my case worker till January. Should I just stop taking it? It's causing me too much emotional pain. |

Can you call? Maybe talk to a pa? Otherwise you could search this forum or check the stickies. You definitely want to taper it.

I am pleased to hear you are coming off it, it was quite obviously causing you more problems than helping you (from reading your posts on the forums). Best to talk to your pdoc before stopping any medication but this thread is a little old so I suspect you have done that by now. How are you feeling now?

I really dislike this medication, the side effects are too much, I'm tired all the time and have lost interest in all the things I used to enjoy. I've got an appointment next week to have my medication reviewed so hopefully the psychiatrist will help me taper off it. In the meantime I'm considering cutting the dosage down by half and seeing how I get on that way, but then again self medicating can be a bad idea so I might just wait till I see the pdoc next week. Thanks for the reply. |
