I just started it last week for bipolar depression. It's been just a short amount of time, so no changes in my mood. I'm actually feeling worse, but I doubt it's from the medication. What condition are you taking it for? I'll be interested in hearing how it works out for you.

I've been on it a while now and can't tell it has helped but there don't seem to be any side effects either.

I've been on it for a year and really love it. I hope I don't have any side effects in the future. Been good for my delusions and hallucinations and psychotic thinking.

I didn't like it. I lost my appetite, was always nauseous and puked it up at least once a week. Plus, it didn't really work that well anyway.

I've been on it for a little while now. I wish they told me why I was taking it. It seems to have taken an "edge" off of things though. Nothing else has really touched my symptoms it seems. I'm a little more social in a way, I feel much less suspicious of others. I've had a bit more emotion while on it and a tad bit more motivation. It's not much perhaps, but it's something positive which makes it the best yet. I take it at night which helps me sleep, though when I went up to 80mg I sometimes wake up too early. Aside from a little dizziness at first, there's been really no side effects and no effect on weight. But like was said above, everyone is different.

I was on it before, started at 10 mg and quickly went up to 20 then 40. I got severe Akithisia which did not go away even after going back down to 10mg. I think the reason is that it builds up in your system.
I am now trying it again, because it really helped with my depression, and made me lose weight (lack of appetite) My pdoc is very understanding and has me taking 10mg every other day, then she said we can play around with taking 20 mg every other day, then maybe 10mg one day and 20mg the next -- the idea is that we don't let it build up too high. Also I have Inderal and Ativan to take if I still get Akithisia, but I try not to take those if I can avoid it. Akithisia is the worst feeling in the world for me, and I told my pdoc if I get it again I will never take another AP. |
