Hi everyone. I've been on generic Wellbutrin (150 SR) for two months now, and lately I've been feeling so violently angry. It's to the point where I am incredibly tempted to just stop taking it cold turkey.

I have a phone appointment with my doctor in nine days to discuss medication, but I don't know if I can wait that long. I'm kind of freaking out.

Anyone else experience this?

It is a mild stimulant so sure it could be responsible in some way for your feeling angry. The nice thing about Wellbutrin is you can stop it cold turkey no withdrawal at all. But talk to your doctor first. Wellbutrin gives me the energy I crave but one side effect I noticed is it increases my anxiety and some times induce hypomania. So it's not hard to believe it has that effect on you.

Thanks for the reply, Indie. Unfortunately, I haven't felt ANY of the positive effects of this medication, so maybe it's just not for me

I had to stop taking it because it caused me to rage out uncontrollably. It made me manic and my manic state is complete rage/irritability/anger. After the third hole I kicked/punched in the wall I just flushed the rest down the toilet. If I had stayed on it I would have killed someone. It was horrible. My doctor told me it affects certain people that way but it's rare.

I felt very irritable on wellbutrin, and also physically spent. It didn't work well for me at all.

Yes, I experienced some anger and violent thoughts on it. But they did eventually go away. I went off it and remained on zoloft but i found I was gaining some weight and couldn't control my cravings. I also was feeling more depressed than ever. I've recently gone back on WB and I can feel my appetite drop off to where it was before. I am thinking I may just go off everything altogether or try something else.
