This is an easy choice to make for me and my family. side effects I have on Lexapro , constipation, stiff joints, s, gut pain, bloating, tired , weight gain , now you are going to say I would not put up with that. Ok LEXAPRO no depression, the med is failing a little after 2 years and I will need to boost to 15mg, again a danger my age is 66 , not suppose to go higher that 10mg, Thinking why in a bad moment of constipation and slitting an **** fisher I thought did I stop taking SERTRALINE then I came to me that it failed on me after years. I thought maybe it will work again now I still have a supply in the cabinet enough till i see the GP I will give it a go what harm will it do. So 10 days ago I dropped the lexapro and started the sertraline, it was a good start no effects , all my side effects from Lexapro faded I though im on a winner . But the one thing sertraline would not do was hold back depression. NOW you can have every side effect there is but if you haven't got crippling depression you can survive. But if you have depression that destroys your hole life and everyone around you . No side effect matter,s in the least , you are dead in your brain your life is nothing. So this morning I took 15mg of Lexapro and hopefully this depression monster will be stopped.my side effects areal ready back ,but so will be my life hopefully. There is depression and there is depression, if you can work and function its mild to moderate no matter how you look at it. If you cannot function, talk, live, go outside, do anything and watch your families faces has they go down with you. the choice is simple . I will put up with the side effects to keep what I have.,there are no more meds to try after all these years. THIS IS HOW I LIVE FOR MY FAMILY .

You're scaring the newbies.

My antidepressant doesn't give me side effects and has worked for 10 years now. Maybe people need to hear positive stories for a change.

Psych meds sure do come with side effects. Most side effects eventually wear off, some side effects remain...but like you said sewerrats, sometimes it comes down to doing what works for yourself and those around you. I know that for me, the side effect of not being on meds is a life that is not livable.

I'm reacting to all the hurtful words you have for everybody. It's not just me but you're mean to 90 % of the people here. I feel for them too. I don't like to see them hurt.

And please don't say I biach like a girl when you wish assrape on me in another post.

I'm not the *****ing one here, I react to someone who deliberately bullies me and wishes horrible things on me.

This thread has gone off topic and turned into an argument. I'm going to close it while we decide what to do with it.
