I took a urine drug test for work today and failed. Twice. I have never done drugs in my life. The tech said that it looks like I took Xanax. I dont take that but I do take Abilify. I dont have any other prescription meds that I take and the only over the counter meds I take are Tylenol and a generic sleeping pill.

Can Abilify cause you to fail a urine drug test?? Has anyone had a similar experience??

Have your doc write a letter to your employer explaining your positive results. I had the same thing happen to me for the Adderall I take.

I took abilify for years and it never showed postive results in a drug test for anything but some sleeping pills can give positive results. The technician who took your urine should have asked you what medications you have been taking and charted it on the form. I have a lot of chronic illness which require a lot of medication and when I have to take a drug screen I give the tech my list of medications so it can noted on the form so if it shows a positive result for certain things they know why. You can have you doctor fax/write a letter explaining the positive is the result of medications prescribed by your physician.
