I never had nausea with it unless I actually forgot to take my pills. Effexor has some of the worst withdrawals I have experienced from a med.

I did find this though: Effexor and Nausea? - Anxiety Message Board - HealthBoards

I had some nausea with effexor and I think it took me about a week and a half or two weeks to feel "normal" again, but every time they increase your dose you will get the same feeling. I also want to warn you of the withdrawal effects in the future, if you do ever go off effexor be very careful to do it slowly and try not to miss any days because effexor withdrawal is like hell and made me feel like I was dying.

I had bad nausea with Effexor when I first went on it, and every time we increased the dose. It mostly went away after about 2 weeks. I still occassionally get a little nausea about 4 hours after taking it, but it's not bothersome. I find it helps to take it with food.

Never had that with Effexor and I have taken in many times. I have a rock gut though.
Hope it goes away for you.

For some reason, SNRIs, such as Effexor and Pristiq don't agree with me. Effexor XR threw me into a delusional psychotic rage and I had to get hospitalized and Pristiq lowered my white cell count and I got so infected with germs like strep and cold viruses that it almost killed me. Also, it gave me seizures, made me highly aggressive and confrontational (I lost a friend... wasn't a good friend but still). Those kinds of medicines always make my head and spine feel like they're on fire. I don't mess with them anymore. I never got nausea with Effexor but I did get it with Klonopin, like chronic nausea all day every day, until I couldn't take it anymore and had to stop. And someone mentioned the terrible withdrawals... yeah. Effexor withdrawal cost me a job I had for years. I think the **** is evil, IMO. Sorry, but I only have my own experience to go on. I've known a few people who were on it and it worked on them just fine.

I think I had stomach upset when I first started Effexor at 37.5mg. I hope you didn't go straight to 150mg dosage?

I second what misskrome said above, sadly. I think Effexor is a plague; I lost a year and a half (and counting!) to intense suffering caused by being on it and withdrawal from it.

I went down hill fast in record time to It was a new West Indian shrink , just looked in his brand new med book and picked one , A nurse said when giving out off the med trolly I haven't used this for ages , I think I know why , I have took Cymbalta and had a similar reaction.

I agree with what others have said, I was on 475mg and the withdrawal was the worst thing I've ever experienced.
