I was on Cymbalta for 3 years with good results, but then it's effectiveness fizzled out. Now I'm trying to find a replacement, hence my question - if you had success with Cymbalta, what other medications did you also have success with either before or after Cymbalta? Thanks!

Before Cymbalta, Lexapro (10 mg) worked...
After Cymbalta (and I stopped cold-turkey, which I don't recommend), Effexor (150 mg) |

I had side effects from Cymbalata and have not been given another anti-depressant to date.

I was on Cymbalta for 3 months and it worked well, back on it again. Celexa has worked for me in the past.

It is an SSNRI so...
Pristiq Effexor Fetzima All SSNRI's Effexor pooped out for me so I went with Fetzima. It is working great. too good in fact. __________________ The "paradox" is only a conflict between reality and your feeling of what reality "ought to be." -- Richard Feynman Major Depressive Disorder Anxiety Disorder with some paranoid delusions thrown in for fun. Cymbalta did not work well for me. (SSNRIs have been pretty disappointing). It seems similar to Effexor and Remeron. If you also have trouble sleeping, a low dose of Remeron may take care of that (higher doses are less sedating, paradoxically).

Thanks. Interesting that my psychiatrist didn't put me on any of those after Cymbalta. He has me on Paxil which does something, but not enough. I'll inquire.

I am on Cymbalta right now.
my pdoc started me on 30mg twice a day, then about a month ago upped it to 60mg twice a day. I started noticing a difference about 3 weeks after the increase for me. This is the first med that's really made a big difference for me. |

My pdoc just increased my Cymbalta to 90mg per day, and added Klonopin 0.5mg 3x per day. I'm hoping this change helps me feel better.
