Hi All,

There have probably been threads like this on here before and maybe one or two exist now - but I just started Zoloft (generic sertraline) at 25 mg per day. Today is day 3 and what I've noticed since the first dose is 1. Drowsiness that sets in after I take it in the day time. 2. Lethargy that has been building over the last 3 days - culminating in today with me feeling blah and having little to no motivation for anything that I even normally used to do every day in spite of depression. My psychiatrist has me on the low dose because of the concern for it disrupting my sleep and so that is why I'm starting at 25 mg (though I think this is a normal starting dose?). At any rate - can any of you please give me your experiences on Zoloft and when/whether or not this side effect went away for you and how long it took if it did so.

Yep. I had the same deal. I thought my depression was just not getting better so we raised it. Wrong. It was Zoloft. My world is better so I am going off of it. When I started reducing it I was better. I have heard it is for people with depression and anxiety but I have also heard people say it is activating so who knows. Regardless the lethargy never went away. It's been about a year.

Edit: I do believe 25mg is low. I think I started at that but I always start conservative. I'm actually having a hard time going to 0 from 25.
