I've been on concerta for a while, but I find if I get more than 6:30 of sleep I get a lot of symptoms. Is this normal? I'm guessing not. I could just go to bed later, but staying up that late every night is tough. Just read a post where someone else complained of the same thing.
Any thoughts? ![]() |

I have narcolepsy, and my sleep doc put me on Adderall as a stimulant, which is more commonly used as an ADHD medication.
So, to be honest, I'm not sure...but I hope you find what works best for you ![]()

I take Concerta 54mg in the morning. Sometimes I'll sleep 4 hours a day or none cuz people online keep me up or I sleep 16-18 hours a day which is right after school until i wake up to go to school again because school is boring and exhausting. It goes in waves I'd say a few weeks hypersomnia and a few weeks normal. No affect on concentration with Concerta in variation of sleep. For me my symptoms are severe so It seems like a dramatic difference when it kicks in half way through class in the morning so I might not be able to notice a difference. I could ask for an increase but meh I don't care as long as I don't get distracted much and can focus enough to get good grades.
I think lack of sleep (such as less than 6.5 hours o.0 - Try sleeping 20 hours see if that helps (; ) increases dopamine in the brain so that might be why the symptoms aren't as bad with the Concerta as when you get more sleep but I don't think that it's worth the lack of sleep because I mean if a normal person were to stay up for three-four days in a row, that's ADD hands down. |
