I think amphetamines are rarely prescribed for depression. Of course they are commonly prescribed for ADD and ADHD but seem to have to opposite effect. I would be very interested to know exactly what is going on with the brain chemistry of ADHD people who are on amphetamines. it seems to be quite different.

I have a very personal experience with the very bad effects of amphetamines. Five years of heavy meth amphetamine use. Brought me to my knees. After I got sober it caused over a year of a full blown manic episode with lots of psychosis. Also psychosis when using. Very powerful drugs. Totally whacked my monoamines all the time I was using and for over a year after. Primarily dopamine i believe.

Good point, I haven't even looked at the whole chart. I was on a mission to find one today about side effects, of the possible reactions of some members concerning their new/old medication.

I think well down graphs and charts, and Stahl's cartoons help a great deal.

I am very tired of down, I would welcome up. To me it makes sense to prescribe something that would help with up if one is depressed (because depression and being depressed is an ongoing state of down).
