I hate taking meds, they dont help me, i have to take 7 meds and its too much, i feel like i intoxicate myself. Im desperate. Im sick of it all. I dont know what to do, i know i have to take meds for my headache (piracetam, cinarizin, vinpocetin and doctor wanted to prescribe me also gabapentin) but im taking lamictal so he said i can take lamictal not gabapentin. Too much meds. Im addicted to xanax too, im taking this med for two years. Im taking also amytriptiline. When i think about it, it seems hopeless to be free from these meds. I will talk to my pdoc but i dont believe she could tell me something usefull...

I hear your frustration and know it too well. Definitely talk to your doc about your concerns and frustration with your meds. No matter what, do not just stop taking them! They need to be tapered down if you and your doc decide to go off, ask them for the best way to do this.

It can be hard to tell which ones are helping and which ones are not. You can look at your history and discuss with your doc to figure out a plan to decide which ones may or may not be helping more or less that can start to slowly eliminate, to figure out where best to go with your treatment over time. It is a process that have to have patience with but will be worth it in the end.

You are absolutely right in that if what you are doing is not working, it can be time for a change. It is important to be on top of things, listening to your body and mind, and letting your doc know that things are not working to come up with a better plan. I hope you get some answers soon and will get in touch your doc, they can help you. That is what he/she is there for.

You may want to choose no meds in the end but know with patience, know that the right combination is out there, it is just a matter of finding it. Hang in there! Best of wishes no matter which route you choose, be safe, and be well meanwhile.

I felt like this a couple of months ago so I stopped taking my meds without consulting my pdoc or T, and I nearly killed myself a few weeks later because my mood got so low. I know how horrid it is taking all those pills, but if your pdoc thinks you need them then you most likely do need them and you will start to see problems arise if you stop.
Thanks for this!

don't go off Xanax without tapering down or you will wish you haven't.
Thanks for this!
