Hi. I took depakote 500mg last night at bedtime with 150mg Seroquel. Shortly after taking them I felt hot flashes in my neck, chest, and shoulders. I have been looking at other drug sites to see if this is a side effect and if it is serious but have found nothing. Anyone positively know? I am not going to take it tonight. Thanks in advance

Hmmm. I've been on Depakote for about 10 weeks now. First it was the generic Valproic Acid, but now I'm on Depakote ER.

the valproic acid gave me pretty significant gastro intestinal side effects. It gave me stomach pain and bad heartburn. Depakote ER doesn't seem to give me the side effects nearly as bad. Depakote ER you only take once and it lasts for 24 hours.

I haven't had any hot flashes and don't remember reading that as a side-effect anywhere.

Wish I could help but, sorry. I don't have any experience with Seroquel.

You can try this site for more information. I don't know how credible it is, and the author has a generally negative outlook on everything. However, it has a ton of information.
