sometimes i get really worried what all these drugs are really doing to us !! and when you start to really stuggle with what you are supposed to take and when , does it not mean you are on too many ? i think my full amount of drugs is now 9 different ones in total four for mh and my gp does not always agree with pdoc prescribing is it any wonder i want to chuck them all away .

Four is not really a lot these days it seems for mental health. I take four four for mental health and two that my GP prescribes. I guess it depends on what they are for and how good they are working.

I did not at all want to take another one but my cholesterol was 280 and I am in reasonably good shape. Diet not so bad. Overweight by about 30 pounds. The dang Zocor they gave me took it from 280 to 133 in a month. So even though I don't like taking it I figure I better because it will probably prevent a for sure heart attack down the line based on my family history.

Klonopin .5mg twice a day, cutting this back
Thanks for this!

It depends how you arrived to the number. Seems some doctors seem to pile one med onto another rather than switching the one that is not really working. Sometimes when on big coctail that is not working... the best thing might be scrap it (under supervision) and start with clean slate.

I think one should aim for the least amount... if nothing to have some space to use something when you are in crisis. More doesn't mean better always.

zinco, my cholesterol did the same, about 280. Now I'm on meds for my cholesterol. I just had it checked. I guess I have Latuda to blame off that!!! Darn AP's!

Yeah I guess with the AP's you really have to get blood tests often. Mainly the diabetes thing.

They tend to prescribe one to counteract the side effect of another all to often and on and on.

Like the SSRI's and SSNRI's screw up my sleep so I take Remeron for sleep. That I am ok with but anymore psyche meds than what I am on....I would not do it.

I agree as well. I would be hard pressed to even stomach the idea of taking any more meds. I also take the Remeron for sleep. I split up a 30 mg tablet, the half dosage helps relieve some of the bad hunger side effects. From what I understand about Remeron, the less you take actually increases the sedative effects for sleep.

I take like four daily meds and a bunch as needed. But I only need low dosages so I think the number might be misleading. I think I'm less medicated now compared to when I had one med they maxed me out on.

I don't care how many I have to take, so long as I can feel better. Right now I am on six psych meds and I'm about 70 % of what I used to be when my illness was in remission. I wish I could get higher.
