OK so I know that phenergan isn't a psych med as such but I have been prescribed it for sleep. I have been on many AP's and sleepers but eventually my body has gotten so use to them that the dosage kept having to be increased to give me some if any help in getting me to sleep.

...I am under the care of a psychiatrist who prescribes me phenergan and my other meds but is it safe to take it every single night? So far its been the only med that I havn't had to increase!

What do you guys think?
Is anyone else of phenergan to help with sleep?

Thanks

I have had to use phenergan for nausea when I have had my migraines and I can understand why it would might be prescribed for sleep. It makes me really drowsy and puts me to sleep, which in some cases is exactly what I needed with the pain of some of those migraines. It has worked really well for sleep if it can make me sleep through those miserable really bad migraines, with no after affects, which I appreciate too.

I hope it helps you and you get some sleep soon.

I'm surprised he didn't prescribe like Flexerall for sleep instead. That's just a weird script for a pdoc to write...hope it works though!

I have never heard of flexerall - what kind of a med is that? ...a sleeper

I have previously been on seroquel, zopiclone and zyprexa to help with sleep before but in time my body got use to all of them

Hi, it's a muscle relaxor, also as I'm sure you know, phenergan causes constipation. Best of luck!
