I was just prescribed this med and have been taking it for a week. I'm posting this thread to record my experience with it for other members here to use as a reference.
It's a sublingual tablet that tastes terrible. I was prescribed the black cherry flavor. It numbed my mouth for about ten minutes and made me very sleepy after 20 minutes. I also had trouble swallowing. Although I was very, very tired I was unable to sleep because my whole body was restless, especially my legs. This effect lasted for a couple of hours every night. I got to sleep very late and had hangovers every morning. I've stopped taking it. |

I hated the numb mouth feeling...hated it.
I had to stop Saphris because it made me weep uncontrollably. |

Ack the taste... So horrid .. Black cherry my foot ! I had breathing problems and felt very shakey Had to DC it after 3 hours ... Only good for me was it knocked me out quickly .

Update:
For a fleeting moment my shrink wanted to up the dose after he heard about my reaction! I told him hell no. Sometimes I wonder if these people are thinking. |

I LOVE my Saphris. I take 20mg at night, and sleep very well. Yeah, it tastes horrible, but that is a small price to pay for a weight neutral AAP. I do very nicely during the day and get some good mood stabilizing effects from it. I'm pleased with it overall because I don't have any weird side effects. Just thought I'd add a counterpoint.
