I saw an ARPN yesterday, which is a nuirse that has psychiatric qualifications and the ability to prescribe medicine. She said that I appear to be suffering from some form of Bipolar Disorder. That's irrelevant. She put me on 2.5 mg of Abilify twice daily for my voices and 'delusions', and 150 mg of Trileptal as a mood stabilizer, to be doubled on the second dosage. The thing is, Abilify is used to treat Schizophrenia and acute mania in Bipolar Disorder. I don't have these things. Trileptal is also a medication for EPILEPSY, not manic depression. The other thing is Trileptal and Abilify cannot be mixed. My dad checked and said that Abilify is not to be taken with Trileptal due to the risk of serious complications.

So, I'm still taking Risperdal 0.5 mg every day, but I hate the way it makes me feel and it really doesn't help much. I don't feel like increasing the dosage nor do I want to take another medication. Can you recommend anything?

Firstly, you can safely take trileptal and abilify, but you may need a higher dose of abilify to get the proper response because trileptal is a "hepatic inducer" of the enzyme that breaks down abilify. Both Abilify and trileptal are commonly used for bipolar disorder, but I am not a big fan of trileptal for this. Abilify can work very well. You should be careful where you get your information. Try www.scholar.google.com for legit scientific info.
