Hi All,

I was put on abilify around 5 weeks ago after a terrible experience of cymbalta making me manic all summer. For the first time, I know what it feels like to not feel paranoid and anxious 24/7. I still have some paranoia and anxiety but nothing to the point of what it was. ( I would have lived in a panic room, if that was possible!).

My question is, how do you know if you are feeling "normal" or if you are feeling "numb"? Is there even a difference?
I also notice a huge increase in appetite and I cannot afford to gain any weight. I'm falling asleep all day and I cannot be doing that either since I work full time. I went from being up all the time and sleeping maybe 4 hours a night to falling asleep at 8 PM on the couch.

Is there anything I can take to balance this out?

I should add I'm on lamictal and have been for a year. (What does it even do because I'm not sure it even works!). I also take vyvanse for ADHD.

I'm going to see my P-DOC today and I wanted to be sure to give her good feedback but I wanted some opinions from you fabulous people.

I think these questions would be good to ask your doctor and let him/her know what side affects you are having. It's hard going from one medication to another. That is what I am going through right now. After reading your post I don't know if I want to take Cymbalta although I know everyone is different. Just my opinion.....I think the difference between normal and numb is: normal you feel alright, pretty even kilt and numb you feel nothing, just numb. Good luck at your appt. today! Let us know what happens.

My doc told me to try it at night.. She raised the dose to 7.5. I didn't take it this AM and I'm not feeling sleep today so hopefully by taking it at night I won't be groggy when I wake up.. :/
