My psychiatrist believes I have PMDD in addition to my other disorders, so she prescribed me Prozac to take during that time of the month. I went to fill it today, and the pharmacy said they never received the prescription. The psychiatrist's med assistant said it went through electronically and won't do anything else.

It's so frustrating to run into these problems! I'm working so hard on my recovery, and this is absolutely ridiculous. Argh!!!

I understand your frustration! I'm frustrated that I am working hard to recover but I can't seem to get the help I need. Can't take medicine becuse I'm having what appears to be an allergic reaction to them all. Then my pdoc tells me to ask t for tools to help me through til I can get medicine back on board, then t tell me she doesn't have any tools for me since my issues are more physical in nature and because I am not sure what is making me depressed. So I'm stuck trying to figure it out on my own. It's truly frustrating when you reach out for help like they always tell you to do but the help you're getting is not helping. Almost makes me wish I had not asked for help to begin with.

Sounds like something my doctor's office would do. Have the pharmacy themselves call the doctor and explain that they REALLY didn't ever receive the prescription. Professionals tend to be better at listening to each other than their patients, unfortunately. I've had to have my pharmacy call the doctor more than once because something was written wrong or never sent.

I was having so many issues with my pharmacy screwing up the electronic prescriptions, that I just asked my pdoc to go back to giving me paper ones. If I need a refill called in, I'm fine with that, but changes in meds or first time scripts, I get a paper copy and take it to the pharmacy.

Probably a good idea. I have had issues with DAW (dispense as written) though, whether it's paper or electronic. When I was getting Ritalin the doctor always put DAW, but the pharmacy would fill generic instead of name brand like the perception was written which was fine with me and doc because that was what we wanted but out of the blue at the worst possible time they rejected my DAW and said no generics anymore. Granted they should have done that in the beginning but they messed up not me why put me in a jam? They didn't even fill just a few to allow me to get by until I could get the DAW removed.

I find certain states are better than others like States on the west coast they seemed to get it right but North Carolina is horrible!

I finally convinced the medical assistant to call the pharmacy. It's ridiculous that I had to hound her about it before she would relent. If the doc wants me on the med, I should be on it. I'm going to start asking for paper copies from now on.
