I'm on 100 mg. I have been for over a year. Might be time to up my dosage as I've been feeling flat for a while.

Hi,
I am on 100mg for about year and half I may need to bump mine also. When I first got on it I thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread that only lasted a few months but I was very happy the way I felt my outlook on life. It was a major feeling of relief of what I have been going through most of my life.

I see my pdoc tomorrow. Might discuss adding Lamictal to increase my mood. It might also have a boosting effect on the Pristiq. Pristiq was one of only AD's thus far that I have no side effects and can take. So I'm limited in my use of AD's.

I'm on 50 mg. I've been on it for about two months and it has made a difference in my depression symptoms. I'm rather limited on antidepressants that I can take due to side effects or reactions but I haven't had any side effects on Pristiq.

I'll check with my Pdoc, but I think it's 400 mg's, per clinical trials.

I was at my pdoc today and will be increasing my dosage to 200 mg of Pristiq. My pdoc also mentioned that 400 mg's is about max that they are comfortable going with.
Thanks for this!

Hi-

I have been on Pristiq 50 mg fot about 3-4 months, after being on 60 of Cymbalta....I receive meds free from my clinic and Cymbalta came off patent...so the drug reps were not giving samples any longer.....I like Pristiq better....From what I have read, Pristiq allows more norepinephrine to be floating around, than Cymbalta. I cannot take SSRI's alone.

Perhaps I should go up to 100mg...I do like the Pristiq, i am flat...but it is better than what I was w/out meds.

Hi Kirby777,

Good luck with Pristiq! I have found it to be very helpful for my depression. I have tried many of the SSRI's, even the newer ones, to no avail. This SNRI, Pristiq, seems to be the only AD I can take without any negative side effects, I've been at 100 mg for over a year. My pdoc wants to increase to 200 mg but my insurance will not cover at that dosage, so I'm debating. In the meantime I've been combining the free samples given to me, so now I'm actually on 150 mg. I'll see how I do at that dosage, before I see my pdoc in a few weeks.
Thanks for this!

I have been on Effexor (Venlafaxine, 150 mg/day - pharmacologically essentially the same as Pristiq) for some years.

I have found it very helpful with my Major Depressive Disorder

It was helpful for the most part for me, then it stopped working after about two years. And it was also very expensive. About $190/month for me. I'm not on it anymore.

many years ago I was put on effexor but it had no effect on me what so ever. I had very very bad withdrawals though when I came off it

Prestiq so far has been amazing and luckily with me living in Australia and being on the disability support pension I only have to pay $6 per script which saves me a lot of money, if I had to pay full price I would not be able to afford any meds at all..

Hi-

So I am guessing that the 50mg I am on is low? I had tried Pristiq yrs ago, and I could not get through the headaches i was getting, so I stopped after 2 weeks...this time around I had been on Cymbalta for almost 9 months-a year, & had gone through the headaches...so I was able to transition into Pristiq easier.

For US patients...go onto Pfizers RX assistance...If you have insurance, they will give you a low co-pay option....if you have no insurance, similar to me, you have to qualify. I am luck my "clinic" received free samples.
