I used to use illegal drugs to get to an altered state of mind....
Now I use legal (prescription) drugs to get to a 'normal' state of mind... Ironic, isn't it? Who else has thought about this and has the same experience? |

I have. I used to love an altered state of mind, now a normal state of mind suits me just fine if I have it. I would still love an altered state but can't go there anymore.
Alot of people I think don't understand that there is a vast difference between the two. Taking an antidepressant that is working is totally totally different than using alcohol, pot, coke, meth, opiates, etc. For me when I take psyche meds I don't even really notice I am taking them. Totally different.

Funny how it works right? I was never one to take illegal drugs to get to an altered state of mind but legal ones... Definitely. Alcohol was my drug of choice... But it's no better than the illegal stuff, still played a hand in my depression. As they say... If I knew then what I know now...
