Hi
I've popped over from the psychotherapy forum ![]() I've been on citalopram, which I think is celexa in US, for a couple of years. It's been great, but I don't cry when I'm on it. I think maybe once or twice in the past two years. We're looking at some difficult stuff in therapy, and I think I'm struggling to process it cos I can't cry, even though I feel like I want to. Anyone else have this? I want to come off it now because I think I need to feel what is happening, but I'm worried about withdrawal effects. Any recommendations? Thanks xx |

Hi, I used to be on Celexa. I can't remember which anti depressant I was on (I've been on several) where I had that effect but it did annoy me. I think it was when I was on a higher dose of Zoloft than I am now.
I had no withdrawal symptoms coming off of Celexa, of course you need to taper off under your doctors care. I hope this gets resolved for you ![]()

I absolutely had his problem on Citalopram. I had it at 20mg/40mg/60mg. It didn't really bother me and I didn't even notice until I would fight with my spouse and never cry about it. I could cry but it would take a lot for me to cry. I was on it for 11 years but that was the one side effect I didn't mind much. Now that I'm off, I cry all the time, which is much worse.
Maybe reducing the dose will help? Good luck to you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
