I just saw a hematologist yesterday because of my anemia. He told me it was due to my kidney problems due to lithium. He told me that it would be easy to go off of litium because I am not manic. I have been on lithium since I was 18 and now I am 38. It was really the only thing that helped my rapid cycling bipolar disorder. I dread going off of it. Does anyone know anything that works as well as lithium. I can't take Depakote because I had a reaction. I think I tried just about everthing.

The only others I know are tegretol or lamictal, otherwise they are probably going to want to use a AAP.

Have you tried Lamictal? If not I would try that first.
AAP = Atypical Anti Psychotic
