Hi Forum Member,

My psychiatrist has suggested Medicine - Risdone for my brother mental disorder and extreme aggression in his personality with lots of paranoia in his approach toward life.
But when i came across the side effect of the medicine i got extremely scary to give him this medicine as we are going to give him the medicine in disguise without his knowledge.

So wanted to know is there any body who have taken this medicine or similiar medicine and what kind of effect they have seen during the course of medicine.

RISDONE LS Risperidone 2 mg+ Trihexyphenidyl 2mg Anti Psychotics

Regards

You want to really watch for akathisia, tardive dyskinesia, and any eye problems.

Tardive dyskinesia or eye problems stop right away.

Akathisia is rigid muscles and restlessness. It's very uncomfortable so someone would not want to take it with this happening. I got it with halidol and I can't believe I put up with it for a year. It went away as soon as I stopped taking it.

Also regular blood tests for sugar levels. AAP's are known to mess with metabolism, cause weight gain and raise sugar levels. Not all of them and not all people.

I'm not sure how you'd check for side effects without him getting suspicious if you plan to drug him without his knowledge. Is he beyond being able to decide to take this? Can you see if he could go inpatient and get stabilized on meds if he is a danger to himself or others? Good luck.

@Angelique : As he thinks there is no issue with him n my doctor said he will never accept that so you need to drug him for few weeks as his dopamine has gone wrong. So doc said you need to stabilize him with this drug n involve him in some job bcz he is danger to himself n more to others
Thanks for this!
